Transiting Mercury retrograde. How to know which areas of life are affected? Part 1

My last post was about Mercury retrograde in Leo, a transit that starts on the 17th of July (you can check it here https://www.astrobytes.tech/post/mercury-retrograde-in-leo-17-july-11-august-2025 ). In that post I mentioned that Gemini and Virgo will be more affected, and by that I meant people with main planets and points in these signs (Sun, Moon and Ascendant). But what about others who don't have the luminaries and Rising or any other planets or points in Gemini and Virgo? How would Mercury retrograde impact your life if you don't have Gemini or Virgo placements?

All of us have astrological houses in Gemini or Virgo in our natal chart. Look up your birth chart and see what house cusps fall in Gemini or Virgo. Those houses are ruled by the planet Mercury.

1st house in Gemini or Virgo (your Ascendant is also Mercury ruled) - themes of Mercury retrograde will impact your self image, personality, physical body/ appearance, life path. This is a good time to reassess your individual needs. Self care routines are also favored during this transit. Do not make definitive decisions regarding yourself during this transit. Do not make extreme changes to your physical appearance.

2nd house in Gemini or Virgo - the themes of Mercury retrograde will affect your finances, resources, parents, etc. Your financial situation needs to e analyzed during this transit. There can be delays regarding income or problems with bank accounts, digital bank apps, etc. Some important resource or propriety may be in need of repairs. This could be a period when you are selling or buying propriety like a house or a car. In this case try reevaluating the asset you are buying/ selling and take your time. It is advisable to not sign contracts before Mercury turns direct.

3rd house in Gemini or Virgo - the themes of Mercury retrograde will impact your communication with local community, colleagues, siblings, etc. Because the 3rd house is a Gemini house, expect the general problems of Mercury retrograde - miscommunication, problems with transportation and electronic devices. Double check the emails and messages you send and backup any data on your computer. Do not plan trips during this period, or if you plan them expect delays.

4th house in Gemini or Virgo - Mercury retrograde will make itself felt in your family life and emotional sector. If your relatives may have planned to visit you, expect delays. Communication with your family, mother can result in misunderstandings. This may be a good time to analyze your emotions and feelings and conclude what is useful and rational. This is also a good tome to renovate your home.

5th house in Gemini or Virgo - Mercury retrograde will impact your romance and creative sector, your relationship with authority and children. Dating around may be difficult during this time with lots of misunderstandings and problems in communication. Do not take any serious decisions regarding the romance sector during this transit. If you have children problems regarding their educational environment may appear. If you are choosing a school or an after school activity for your child, you may want to postpone the decision until the end of the retrograde. This could also be a time when children are on vacation.

6th house in Gemini or Virgo - Mercury retrograde will affect your work environment, physical health, pets. This is a good time for a health checkup. At work there may be delays because of colleagues taking a home leave or taking on a different work project. Also you may be thinking of buying a pet or you may have to move a pet. Take your time and analyze any of these situations. Do not make final decisions until Mercury goes direct
