VENUS IN PISCES IN THE NATAL CHART - THE MERMAID

Venus is the planet of love and relationships. Venus governs beauty in the physical plane through the rulership of Taurus and beauty of the mental plane through the rulership of Libra, being in domicile in both of these signs. Although the saying goes ”there's no place like home”, Venus does beg to differ. Her exaltation sign, the sign in which she rejoices the most is actually Pisces, the mystical sign of the Fish.

Pisces is one of the most complex zodiac sign. Ruled by Jupiter and the modern ruler Neptune, this sign also has an symbolic association with Christianity and its religious beliefs (faith, empathy, compassion, forgiveness). The symbol of the fish was used before the cross by early Christians. In Greek mythology Poseidon (Neptune) ruled over the seas and oceans, the modern ruler giving Pisces the power to influence these vast bodies of water. Modern astrologers also consider Neptune ”the higher octave” of Venus. If Venus represents conditional love, Neptune is agape and unconditional love. Pisces also rules the 12th house, the house of the subconscious, sleep, illusions, self undoing, secrets, sacrifice, confinement and isolation.  The ancient ruler Jupiter makes the sign even more complex, by offering knowledge and wisdom, refining itÈ›s sensitive and compassionate nature.

Venus in Pisces in relationships

Love really flourishes here with Venus in Pisces similar to Venus aspects to Neptune or Venus in the 12th house. Because the Virgo - Pisces axis is linked to service and sacrifice, the person with Venus in Pisces can have a romantic life that doesn't mirror the ideal modern image of love were partnership strives to be equal and to facilitate the individualistic status/ materialistic growth of both people. Love here tends to be more sacrificial and unconditional, not bound by the limitations and groundedness of Saturn, which can be very spiritual and liberating for the soul, but not constructive for building something practical here on Earth. Because the practical aspects of the relationship for Venus in Pisces may not be met, these people tend to daydream of 'what could have been if`. Sometimes they never confess to the person they're in love with, keeping them locked in their fantasy. They may spend years thinking of the person they couldn't be with, still believing that one day, in some miraculous way they will meet unexpectedly and be with them. In many instances no

action is taken for concreating the relationship, because the person knows subconsciously that the dream of the relationship is what is keeping them hooked in. In some cases when the relationship does come into fruition and the boring mundane reality of life kicks in, these people feel disappointed, even betrayed by their partner, realizing this is not the fairytale they thought it would be. Sometimes the romantic partner of Venus in Pisces feels deceived when they find out their partner does not love them for who they really are.  The Venus in Pisces was actually in love with an ideal  version of the relationship.

Codependence is another unhealthy aspect of the relationships of Venus in Pisces. If self worth depends on helping, fixing and saving others, the Venus in Pisces can get stuck in relationship with psychologically broken people, drug addicts, people with some kind of physical/ emotional/ mental disability that cannot take care of themselves on their own. Even if the partner is incapable of giving anything back, Venus in Pisces doesn't mind and actually can be happy about it, because this makes them feel needed.

Men with Venus in Pisces tend to idealize the feminine and fall in love with women that are compassionate, sensitive, empathetic to others, and have some sort of dreaminess and softness about them.

This placement (or Venus in aspect to Neptune) can also be prevalent in painters, photographers, cinematographers, actors because Neptune the ruler of Pisces is also a planet of illusion. Venus in Pisces can represents the ability to visualize beauty and it sets the feminine as the muse of the artist.

Venus in Pisces and money

Similar to Neptune in the 2nd house, these people can be deceived or they can be the deceivers in matters of money. Charlatans can sometimes convince them with pretty words and scam them or they can be persuaded to participate in a scam or an illegal money fraud. Venus also signifies the partner, and so people with Venus in Pisces need to pay attention not to be tricked by their partner regarding money. The partner can also hide money from them. Also people who have this natal placement should watch out on how much money they spend on spiritual practices and alternative healing practices. When money is concerned these people either reject the purpose of gaining excessive material possessions in this lifetime and focus on spiritual things or if they dream on making money it usually implies spending big and acquiring luxury.
