I will continue with this topic in a multi - part series of posts. If you want to find out how to calculate your birth-chart and what the birth chart contains please read my first post about this topic by clicking the link https://www.astrobytes.tech/post/how-to-read-a-birth-chart-the-beginning . On the astrowheel we can see 10 objects marked through specific symbols. Each of these 10 symbols (planets) represent processes, concepts, objects or people . The most important of these planets are THE LUMINARIES - SUN and MOON, which alongside the Rising sign (Ascendant) define most of THE SELF, being known as ”the big three”. THE MOON Processes : emotions, feelings, attachment, memories, nurturing, fertility, childhood, Concepts : the subconscious, the feminine, anima, safety, Objects : the home, food People : wife, mother, family members, THE SUN Processes : creativity, self expression, talent Concepts : the ego, the conscious self, joy, vitality, career, recognition Objects : - People : husband, father, boss/ other authority figures, the government, the king VENUS Processes : love, art, pleasure, collaboration, diplomacy, seduction, relationships, prostitution Concepts : beauty, values, equality, justice, compromise, cooperation, peace, femininity, romance, sensuality, fashion Objects : money, resources, jewelry, cosmetics, decorations People : girlfriend, wife, mistress, lover, friend, business partner MERCURY Processes : thinking, speaking, reading, writing, counting, statistics, mathematics, short-distance travels, practical skills, mundane tasks Concepts : details, ideas, school, numbers Objects : communication devices (phone, computer, internet) social media, apps, transportation routes and vehicles People : siblings, colleagues, neighbors, small community MARS Processes : fighting, war, sex, conflict, movement, sports Concepts : masculinity, passion Objects : fighting gear, weapons, firearms People : boyfriend, opponents If you want a more detailed description of each planet click here . The planets mentioned above are PERSONAL PLANETS and are more representative of our individuality . That is because these planets move fast and don't remain in the same zodiac sign for too long. The faster the planet, the less probable it is for people in the same generation to share the same planet placement (sign and degree), making you unique in your peer group. The fastest moving planet is the Moon (it stays in the same sign for 2 days). In contrast, other planets like Saturn, Jupiter and especially Neptune, Uranus and Pluto share the same sign for a generation. That is because these planets move slow. Jupiter stays in the same sign for 1 year, so you will have the same Jupiter sign as the people born in the same year as you. Whereas Pluto travels a sign in approximately 15 years, and you will have the same Pluto sign placement as many people alive around the globe. The slower the planet, the less personal it becomes, and traits of the planet in that respective sign become characteristics for a generation of people.
- How to read a birth chart - the beginning
First of all you must know the time and location of your birth (or of the person you are interested in) That means the YEAR, MONTH, DAY and the HOUR and the COUNTRY and CITY where you were born . Example: Jane Smith was born 12th of September 1989 at 9:00 p.m. in Paris, France Then go to a website that compiles your astrological wheel/table. I usually use astroseek.com . ( https://horoscopes.astro-seek.com/birth-chart-horoscope-online ) and type in the information mentioned above. If you don't know the hour of birth you can use 12:00 or tick the box ”unknown time”. Remember you will not be able to know for sure the Ascendant or even the Moon , especially if this point and luminary are in the first or last degrees of a sign. The birth chart can be represented by an astrological wheel or an astrological table like in the picture below. Let's take the astro wheel. We first notice that this circle has the symbols of the 12 signs (from Aries to Pisces) . Also there are 2 major axis . The horizontal one is the Ascendant (AC) - Descendant (DC) axis and the vertical one is the Midheaven (MC) - Imum coeli (IC) axis . These axes are very important. The Ascendant (also known as the rising) is the cusp of the first house and is the mouthpiece of the chart symbolizing THE SELF. The Descendant is the cusp of the seventh house and represents THE OTHER. The Midheaven is the highest point of the chart and is the cusp of the 10th house and symbolizes our projection into the world (THE OUTER SELF). And the Imum coeli, the lowest point in the chart is the cusp of the 4th house representing THE INNER SELF. Beside these major axes which are more emphasized, we can see other thinner black lines on the circle. These lines are the cusps of the other houses. In this chart we can see in what zodiac sign the cusps of the houses land the first house cusp (Ascendant) is in Aries the second house cusp is in Taurus the third house cusp is in Gemini the fourth house cusp is in Cancer the fifth house cusp is in Cancer the sixth house cusp is in Leo the seventh house cusp is in Libra the eighth house cusp is in Scorpio the ninth house cusp is in Sagittarius the tenth house cusp is in Capricorn the eleventh house cusp is in Aquarius the twelfth house cusp is in Aquarius Each house (1st - 12th) represent different areas of life. Now let's observe the planets - the symbols situated in different degrees For example we can see that the planet Venus is in 0 degrees of Scorpio. Planets have their own symbolism and represent different concepts, things and people. For example the planet Venus represents partnerships like marriage, beauty, finances, art, etc. The sign in which the planet is located characterizes how the planet will manifest and the house in which the planet is located shows the areas of life were this planet manifests . For example here Venus is in Scorpio in the 7th house. The Scorpio sign Venus means relationships for this person are intense and obsessive. Money can be made through joint finances and inheritance (Scorpio rules both of these things). This being located in the 7th house of partnerships shows me more and more that this person values relationships very much and prosperity and happiness will definitely come after marriage. Scorpio also rules divorce and Venus represents money. If this person decides to separate from their partner they will not suffer financially, or better yet they will gain from this. Scorpio also can signify separation through death and being in the 7th house, the person could also be widowed. This is just a brief interpretation of the planet Venus in this particular birth chart without taking into consideration the aspects that other planets make to Venus and the ruler of Venus. Aspects are angles made between different planets. They show the relationship between planets. Some angles show an easy relationship between planets and some show a difficult relationship between planets. On the Astro wheel aspects are drawn by BLUE (easy) lines and RED (difficult) lines. In this image we can see 4 BLUE lines (easy aspects) are formed between Mercury in Libra and Moon in Aquarius Pluto in Scorpio and Jupiter in Cancer Pluto in Scorpio and Neptune in Capricorn Venus in Scorpio and Uranus in Capricorn We also se 6 RED lines (hard aspects) forming between Pluto in Scorpio and Moon in Aquarius Mercury in Libra and Saturn in Capricorn Mars in Virgo and Uranus in Capricorn Mercury in Libra and Jupiter in Cancer Saturn/ Neptune in Capricorn and Jupiter in Cancer Uranus in Capricorn and Jupiter in Cancer To understand more about Aspects between planets please read this https://www.astrobytes.tech/explaining-aspects
- VENUS ENTERS GEMINI ON JULY THE 4TH. I love talking to you!
Venus the planet of love and beauty leaves its home sign of Taurus, and after conjuncting Uranus on the 3rd enters carefree and bubbly Gemini on the 4th of July. Gemini is a sign ruled by Mercury, but unlike calculated serious and methodical Virgo, here in Gemini Mercury shows off his fun and childish side. Because Venus governs relationships and money, here with Venus n Gemini we see a shift from a preoccupation with stability and financial security (Venus in Taurus), to wanting to have fun with friends and siblings, talking and gossiping all night about some recent drama and to spend money more carefree. Relationships tend to get more superficial and we get bored pretty easy with the same people. If you are single, this isn't a good time to start a serious relationship or to commit to something long-term, but more to date around and meet new people (potential partners and friends). If you are already in a relationship try to have fun with your partner. Go out with a group of friends or colleagues (Mercury in Gemini likes diversity) and be communicative but in a more lighter manner without going into personal or emotional matters. On the 6 -7th of July Venus sextiles Saturn conjunct Neptune in Aries and trines Pluto in Aquarius. Conversations with loved ones, especially romantic partners could go from light hearted and superficial to intense and serious for a short period of time. You could realize on the 6th that maybe the latest gossiping or latest things you spent money on were not that constructive for your life (Saturn) and feel a bit ashamed (Pluto). However, being easy aspects (sextile and trine) no big consequences will follow, just some needed limitation in what you spend or what you say to loved ones and some beneficial self-introspection seeing how Pluto is retrograding. On July 11th Venus in Gemini begins to square Mars in Virgo. The square perfects itself on the 23rd of July . I mentioned this square in my Mars transits Virgo post. On the 18th Venus in Gemini makes a sextile to Mercury in Leo . This puts more emphasis on light-hearted but self-confident communication. You might go to a party with friends and brag about how well you have been doing or how you bought that car or that house. If you are writing a book this day is extremely good for inspiration and writing creatively. Then on the 19th the planet that governs this Venus in Gemini, Mercury goes retrograde . Mars transiting Virgo , squaring Venus in Gemini at this time is also ruled by Mercury retrograde. As I said in my Mars transits Virgo post there will be a lot of miscommunication happening especially with friends and romantic partners, possibly verbal conflicts with that Mars square.
- Mars transits VIRGO (17th June - 7th August 2025). Don't forget the grocery list!
On the 17 - 18th of June 2025 Mars, the planet of action goes into Virgo. In the month of June it will be dancing harmoniously in a sextile with freshly entered Jupiter in Cancer , the planet of good luck in its exaltation sign. This is a wonderful change and we finally get rid of that nasty square with Uranus in Taurus that formed while Mars was traveling the last degrees of Leo. Mars was last seen in Virgo in August 2023 and it was not a pretty scene with that opposition to Saturn, teaching us that however smart and capable our actions are, we can't bypass the limitations of life. For me personally this was a very hard transit, my Mars being natally in the sign of Virgo. Virgo is the sign associated with the sixth house (work, tasks, pets, health, daily routines) and is ruled by Mercury. Mercury gives the sign of Virgo its intellectual abilities, attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills. Of all the earth signs (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn), Virgo is the only one preoccupied with intellectual matters because of its rulership. Mars in the sign of Virgo will make us take action in the manner of Virgo. To get more personal details about how this transit will affect you, find out what house does Mars rule in your chart (the houses that have their first cusp in Aries and Scorpio) and what does the sign of Virgo occupy in your natal chart. For example if you are a Sagittarius Ascendant, in the Whole sign system, Mars rules your 5th house of creativity and children and your 12th house of the subconscious mind, and you have Virgo in your 10th house of career and public reputation. This could play out in different ways. Maybe a creative project (5th house) is being presented at work in a organized and methodical manner or maybe your boss is nitpicking your creative project and criticizing your project. Maybe your child is participating in a public contest and you have to do some extra tasks to support them. Or matters related to mental health (12th house) affect your career and reputation. Maybe implementing a good sleep routine helps you be more productive in the company you work and you might get a raise. To get the most out of this transit you must be willing to put in the effort . Mars in Virgo is a workaholic. If you are somewhat lazy or unorganized this transit will irritate you. People with personal planets in Virgo will feel energized by this transit. During this period of time, make sure that when you are taking action you have a plan , you are scheduling your activities and you are paying attention to detail . If you are performing a task, read the instructions first . Repetitive activities especially if oriented toward health like physical exercise are favorable. This is also a great time to visit your doctor for a health checkup . Dieting will bring good results during this time if you are disciplined. Repairing, cleaning and reorganizing of spaces are also favored. On the 21st of June Mars makes a positive aspect (sextile) to the Great Benefic Jupiter , in the sign of its exaltation. Jupiter will likely reward Mars's actions by giving support from others (Cancer) and bringing good luck with your actions, so don't stay idle. Jupiter also expands, so you should pay attention not to overwork, over-diet, overexercise. On the 25th of June , Mars will sextile the New Moon in Cancer (in a conjunction to Jupiter). New support to your action may appear out of the blue. This is also a very fortunate day because whatever new thing starts on the New Moon in Cancer it will be under Jupiter's blessing. While the month of June brings good fortune and support to our actions, July can be more challenging regarding the way we take action. First, beginning with 11th of July, Venus in Gemini and Mars in Virgo start t o square each other , perfecting the square on the 23rd of July . If the square wasn't enough to create tension, Mercury that now rules both Mars in Virgo and Venus in Gemini begins its retrograde motion on the 19th . Expect big misunderstandings in communication and conflicts resulting out of this. Couples may argue during this period. Your actions may be misunderstood by friends and partners, forcing you to over explain yourself (there is a lot of Mercury energy going on even if it's dysfunctional, so lots of communication, writing, speaking). Actions may not go according to the initial plan because of misunderstandings or technical difficulties. Because both Mars and Venus are ruled by Mercury at this time (even though retrograde) and due to the fact that Virgo and Gemini are mutable signs and adapt/ compromise more easily, I think conflicts if they appear at all will be resolved rapidly. On the 22nd of July , Mars conjuncts the South Node . You will have to do a summary of the actions taken from the 17th of June and reevaluate them, continuing only with what works and letting go of what is not useful or practical. Some conflict from the past can reappear. Another interpretation of this aspect is that the work you did since June 17th had a spiritual motivation (maybe you were helping someone sick out of the kindness of your heart) or a karmic one (paying a karmic debt to someone). Check out my Mars in Virgo in the natal chart .
- VENUS IN TAURUS IN THE NATAL CHART
Venus entered Taurus on June the 6th and you would hope that globally peace and financial prosperity would reign, but that square to Pluto in Aquarius and Saturn and Neptune traveling Aries have another story to tell. Because of this transit I wanted to make a post about what it means to have this placement in the birth chart. Venus in Taurus
