The second house is associated with the zodiac sign of Taurus, being ruled by the planet Venus. It represents our material and mental values, our self worth, the things we own, financial stability. But traditionally it signifies the family of origin - parents and the house you were raised in. That is because in the past, your value and status came from the family you were born in. Interestingly enough, my Saturn in Capricorn in the second house is conjunct with my parents personal planets: my mother's stellium în Capricorn (Mars, Venus, Sun), and my father's Sun and Jupiter. My mother's Venus is the tightest conjunction to my Saturn in the 2nd house. My sister also has planets in my 2nd house - her Venus is also in a tight conjunction to my Saturn in the second house. I suppose this means I have some second house karma with members of my family regarding second house matters - maybe regarding proprety, inheritance, money but also responsabilities. Then I checked my longest friendship (28 years of friendship) and she also has Sun in Capricorn in my second house conjuncting my Saturn. Taurus is known as a fixed sign and a representative sign for stability. The second house overlays are significant for stability (unless the sign in which the 2nd house lands is more chaotic or freedom loving). Venus especially will be very happy here and will be stabilized by the taurean energy of the second house. Saturn is also known to make things long-term and corelates with commitment on the part of the Saturn person. This combination of second house, Capricorn and Saturn must be what is mentaining this relationships for the long haul. The negative of these placements is that, with Saturn and Capricorn is that you would feel responsable for the personal planet person, or they will feel responsable for you. Now I am at the age when I'm looking to start a family with someone. And I met a man that kind of ticks all the boxes and I checked the synastry. His Sun in Capricorn is exactly conjunct my Saturn in the second. Also his Mars and Jupiter are in my forth house. And with the hypothesis mentioned above I am very optimistic to see how this goes.

It is a great time to redecorate the home and invest money i the place you live in. Unfortunately as soon as Venus steps into Cancer it forms a square to Saturn and Neptune in Aries. Your individual ambitions or insecurities and stresses (Saturn) will clash with your family's wishes. Maybe some projects at work are interfering with the leisure time you want to spend at home with loved ones. Adjustments must be made to balance professional life with relaxation and family time. This Venus - Saturn square can also make money scarce. Any shopping spree that was happening during Venus in Gemini will be addressed during this time, and if there was excessive spending, some restriction on finances will have to be implemented. Because Neptune in Aries is also squaring Venus in Cancer, if there was any deceit or confusion regarding money, now you will be able to see it clearly. The Saturn Neptune square will only last for a few days and will be long forgotten by the time we get to August 12th , when Venus, the Lesser benefic will conjunct Jupiter, the Greater Benefic in the sign of Jupiter's exaltation, Cancer . Jupiter is the planet of luck and abundance and Venus is the planet of relationships and finances. This is a lucky day for love and money. Expect grand gestures of love, gifts or winning a sum of money. Our loved ones can teach us something of higher wisdom. Jupiter is also the planet of long-distance travel. This would be a great time to plan a vacation with family in an exotic country.

The transiting South Node represents a point of letting go. The sign and planets it is aspecting shows us the things that we will have to surrender in order to move closer to our lives destiny. The South Node is currently traveling Virgo, while the North Node is in Pisces. Virgo is a sign that governs healthcare, hospitals, the pharmacological industry, the working class, and especially social workers. It is ruled by the planet Mercury. Mercury is still retrograde in Leo, till the 11th of August, making any themes of Virgo be ”a work in progress”. Mars is also traveling the sign of Virgo till August the 7th. Mars is known as an aggressive, action oriented planet. Mars is also associated with cutting. Mars in Virgo acts by a step by step plan, it does controls and verifications before acting. On the 23rd of July it will be conjunct the South Node in Virgo. Meaning after ticking its checking list, Mars will take action to sever things it considers wasteful and not useful. On a national level, in my country, some social healthcare was cut during this transit. Also there have been rearrangements regarding the occupation rate of hospital beds in healthcare facilities. Efficient changes and measures in healthcare systems seem to be a theme associated with Mars in Virgo transit. I am still unable to pinpoint how the North Node in Pisces is impacting this. Saturn will return to Pisces for a brief period of time and we will probably also see themes of the North Node in Pisces soon.

On the 9th of August, a grand Air Trine will form in the sky between transformational Pluto in Aquarius , innovative Uranus in Gemini and a newly entered Mars in Libra . In a black and white perspective, all these planets are malefics. Mars, the ruler of the sign of Aries represents direct action, sometimes using aggression and violence to get its purpose met. In Libra, the sign of Mars's fall, the planet of action and war is more concerned with making alliances, being fair, just and even politically correct. Libra is an intellectual sign ruled by Venus. The only common matter with Mars is its Cardinality, meaning its desire to initiate. Uranus , the planet of innovation, genius and technology is in a sign where it does the best after Aquarius. Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, so no surprise if this planet has a lot of power in one of Mercury's home signs. We will see a lot of technological breakthroughs until 2033. Gemini is a fast paced sign so I'm guessing it will be somewhat difficult to even keep up with all the advancements made during this period. Gemini also symbolizes youth. The trine to Pluto in Aquarius, an aspect that will last for some time, reemphasizes the theme of technological 'rebirth'. Both Pluto and Uranus are disruptive, rebellious and revolutionary planets. In a trine they support each other's power, making this a very potent weapon against any system that wants to maintain old structures that are non-functional and non-sustainable. Pluto has a probing way of sniffing out what is rotten, stagnated and non-necessary and spitting it out. While Pluto was in Capricorn, we saw it do that to public institutions. Now in Aquarius we will see this process in motion all over again in corporations and Big Tech. Because of the trine to Uranus in Gemini I have a feeling that the new generations will very much play a part in this. Getting back on track with this Grand Trine. While the trine between Uranus and Pluto has a larger generational theme to it, Mars in Libra is more temporary and so the red planet is the element that defines this Grand Air Trine. Some alliances and diplomatic processes will solidify this modernization Pluto Uranus theme. Libra also represents the justice system and politics. On a global scale expect big corruption trials, and convictions of the guilty with impact on our present politicians. On a personal level, the recommendation is to be extra open-minded in the areas of life where Uranus and Pluto are. In the area of Pluto you should try to eliminate what is not serving your evolution anymore, while in the area of Uranus you must incorporate new things that can help you grow. An "in with the new out with the old" attitude is best to be had. In the area of life where Mars is traveling be open to collaboration and compromise without doing anything unjust or illegal.

Mars enters the peaceful sign of Libra on August the 7th. There is a focus on relationships, keeping score and upholding the law. Mars is the planet of irritation and aggression. It hits and then it asks questions. Mars is also a pretty individualistic planet. Libra on the other hand is preoccupied with others, maintaining balance, upholding values and justice and making compromises to keep the peace. Mars in Libra is in its sign of debilitation. But, still, Mars fights for something even in Libra. It fights for equality, injustice, respecting the law, protecting others. On the bad side Mars can also start quarrels with other people. Immediately after it ingresses into Libra, Mars makes an opposition to Saturn and Neptune in Aries. Saturn is a karmic planet and it punishes those that do not respect its rules limits and boundaries. If you did something wrong it may be a time when you suffer the consequences. Saturn being opposed by Mars in Libra, watch out for these consequences in the relationship, maybe financial and even legal sector. Of course Saturn is also without dignity because of two reasons: being in the sign of its fall and conjunct Neptune, the planet of illusion. The good news is that Mars also forms a grand air trine to Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius . Technology, social groups and networking go hand in hand in flow with the initiative to form new partnerships in romantic settings or business. Groups of people can fight for the resolution of a legal matter. On the negative side, we could see a lot of conflicts and disputes on the internet between groups of people.

On the 1st of August , Mercury in Leo, in retrograde motion conjuncts the Sun in Leo at 9 degrees, resulting in a Mercury Cazimi . A Mercury Cazimi happens when the planet approaches the Sun in less than 1 degree, and is making a tight conjunction to the luminary. This moment is considered a time of enlightenment when we experience revelatory ideas and breakthroughs in our logical thinking and communication. Mercury has been debilitated since July 19 when it entered its retrograde motion , causing delays, miscommunication, malfunctioning of electronic devices and transportation. In Leo this had impact on your interaction with authority and children, on your ego and creativity. This period is not the best time to shine through your brilliant ideas, but it is great for researching and preparing information. You can have your spotlight for the creative project you are working on in late August, after Mercury turns direct and finishes post-shadow. In my case, as a Virgo dominant chart, ruled by Mercury, this retrograde has been exhausting. Besides the not so positive effect of the retrograde motion, Mercury has also been combust from the time Sun entered Leo. Combustion of a planet occurs when it is in 10 degrees of the Sun, and it becomes "burnt" by the Sun's powerful rays. The combustion of a planet is considered a state o debilitation. In all this mental fog of Mercury retrograde combust, the Cazimi serves as a moment of insight. On the 1st of August, when Mercury will be in the heart of the Sun, we have to pay attention because the solution to a problem for which we were racking our brain since the beginning of the month of July will likely appear out of the blue. If this idea will need to be postponed, be assured that it will be implemented later on the 13th of September, when a Mercury Cazimi forms in Virgo.

Moon and Venus are both feminine, yin planets The Moon represents our emotional core, our subconscious reactions, what makes us feel safe and nourished and it also symbolizes the archetype of the mature woman (mother and wife). The Moon rules the sign of Cancer. The Crab is preoccupied with domestic matters (family and the home) and the inner emotional life. Interestingly the Moon's exaltation is the Venus ruled sign of Taurus. The stability and slowness of Taurus has a benefic effect on the emotional tides of the Moon. Venus is the planet of relationships (romantic and platonic), beauty, arts, grace and charm, values like justice and equality, money and resources, pleasure, etc In comparison to the Moon, which represents natural, raw femininity, Venus, symbolizes a more artificial, socially- constructed kind. Venus rules Libra and Taurus, sharing the principles of Air and Earth signs, meaning a focus on mental and material aesthetics. Venus does not have too much to do with emotions, except regarding its exaltation, which happens in the Water sign of Pisces. Cancer, the home sign of the Moon, has an interesting position because it sextiles Taurus (Venus's domicile) and trines Pisces (the sign of Venus's exaltation). After all that I've mentioned above, we conclude that these two planets have a great relationship, indifferent of the aspect that they are forming, easy or difficult. This is demonstrated by the fact that both feel great in each other's home sign. So even the square and opposition have a very positive effect. In synastry, when these two planets meet in any aspect, we see a display of both people's feminine nature. I've been wanting to share my opinion about this topic of compatibility between signs, because many people, when discussing compatibility focus only on the element and aspects that particular signs form on the zodiacal wheel. It is well known signs in the same element (Earth, Water, Air and Fire) have similarities, but they do not have the same modality . For example, although both are Fire signs, a Fixed Leo may seem stubborn and closed- minded to Mutable Sagittarius who appreciates flexibility and adaptability of ideas. ( if you don't know what modality is please read this post ). On a first glance signs that share modality do not get along because they form a square to each other (a hard aspect which implies difficulty and friction), but that is not the case. Of course signs who are fixed (Leo, Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio) share their stubbornness and desire of stability and permanence. Signs who are Mutable (Virgo, Sagittarius, Gemini and Pisces) share the capacity to adapt to situations and people very quickly. Signs who are Cardinal (Capricorn, Libra, Cancer and Aries) share the desire to initiate and make the first move. Another matter of compatibility is how the rulers of the signs get along . Aries and Sagittarius are both Fire signs and are considered compatible through the element perspective, but, one is ruled by Mars and one by Jupiter. These planets do not get along. Mars is a malefic planet focused on immediate action and self-gratification, while Jupiter is known as the Great Benefic and is associated with wisdom, morality and the higher mind. Watch out for control and manipulation from groups of people  that can undermine or transform whatever new project you are starting. If you are trying to get noticed or get praise for a job well done, watch out for negative reactions or jealousy from others . There is also some benefic influence to this New Moon - a trine to Saturn/ Neptune in Aries  and a sextile to Uranus in Gemini . Or, the work you have put in developing your individual persona (Saturn in Aries) will make your asking for recognition very justified. Saturn is a planet that blocks and limits. Try to not assert in a very direct way or to get aggressive. If you have put in the work, let facts speak for you (especially in a Mercury retrograde period). The New Moon will receive a sextile (a positive aspect) from Uranus in Gemini. Gemini is a sign that symbolizes siblings, colleagues, neighbors. The more progressive and open minded people in your immediate surrounding will see you with good eyes, and if asked they will assist or support you. I will detail this astrological event depending on your Ascendant. I am using the Whole Sign system for this interpretation (where each house begins and ends in one sign). If you are using Placidus do not take into account the Ascendant i mention, only the house. For Aries Ascendant - the New Moon in happening in your fifth house of romance, children, hobbies and creative projects. You might be starting a new creative project, start dating, or there is a new beginning regarding your child. The opposition with Pluto is coming from your 11th house of friend groups and networks and Pluto has been there since last year, so you should be familiar by now with its themes. There could be control coming from your friend group. Do not let others influence you. For Taurus Ascendant - the New Moon is happening in your fourth house of family, home and inner emotional world. With Mercury retrograde also traveling this house, I would say you are making home renovations or maybe changing your home. You may welcome a new member into your family. There may be a new feeling of emotional joy. Pluto is opposing the New Moon from the 10th house of career and reputation. Maybe something shameful or a manipulation of some sort of your reputation or a transformation of social status (good or bad) is taking place. Do not let it spoil the loving times you are having with your family and your sense of inner security. For Gemini Ascendant - the New Moon is happening in your third house of communication, short-distance travel, colleagues, siblings. This is very interesting. In the month of July, there will be an enormous emphasis on communication, because your chart ruler, Mercury which is the planet of communication is retrograde and traveling your third house that shares similar mercurial themes. The New Moon here will mark a new beginning in the way you communicate with others. For people who have children this could be a new educational opportunity for them. Pluto will be opposing the New Moon from the 9th house of higher learning, long-distance travel and publishing. If you are writing a book/ site/ blog you could have problems publishing it. Any educational project will be met with some resistance by your teachers/ professors. For Cancer Ascendant - the New Moon will be happening in your 2nd house of resources, finances, propriety and self-worth. There will be anew opportunity to gain money or you may buy/sell a propriety. Maybe you are starting a creative project that will bring another income. Pluto is opposing the New Moon from the 8th house of shared resources, taxes, loans. Your spouse or family may not be in agreement with the financial decisions you are making. A new business you are starting may need a loan from the bank to take of, or you may need to make a lot of forms (Mercury retrograde) to pay taxes. Pluto can also signify theft, so watch out for illegal activities. For Leo Ascendant - the New Moon is happening in your 1st house of image, physical body and personality. This New Moon will have a major impact on you because it is happening in your first house sign which also shows the way you approach life. An important event may shape your way of being in the world and approach of life. You may develop a new way of seeing life in a more positive manner. You may decide to change something about your physical appearance. Pluto is opposing the New Moon from the 7th house of partnership and open enemies. Be careful of controlling partners but also of conniving enemies. For Virgo Ascendant - the New Moon is happening in your 12th house of the subconscious, sleep, dreams, and things we repress and don't see about ourselves. A new creative streak or a need for recognition can be inhibited by your Virgo first house. If you don't meet this need, this subconscious want may be expressed in a subconscious way by making a drama out of no reason. Try to be aware consciously of your need for validation. We all have it. It is your time to shine, but before the spotlight falls on you, in Mercury retrograde fashion, lets discuss the details of this beautiful transit. This Leo season will give you the opportunity to shine but you should chose your words wisely. It is not enough to lead with great ideas. You must also know how to express them in a way that will make others assist you. Do not let others put you down. They will most certainly acknowledge your power, worth and courage during this transit, but they may get triggered by the way you communicate. Try to e more softspoken and explain to others that you have no negative intentions. If some ideas are not well received during this transit wait until Mercury is direct and maybe for its ingress into Virgo, where the planet of communication has dignity. Mercury is the planet of communication, short-distance travels, local community, siblings, colleagues, etc. It rules Virgo and Gemini, these signs being more affected when Mercury goes retrograde. What does it mean when a planet is retrograde? We say the planet travels backwards but is that possible? It is of course an optical illusion, perceived when the Earth's orbit around the Sun is surpassed by a faster moving planet (Mercury), making it seem like the faster moving planet stops and travels backwards relative to the stars on the sky. When Mercury is retrograde it seems to stop in a degree of the sign and then it revisits a part of the sign that it traveled in direct motion. Mercury will begin its retrograde motion on the 17 of July at 15 degrees of Leo and will end its retrograde phase on the 11th of August at 4 degrees of Leo. The themes of any Mercury retrograde are delays, misinformation, misunderstandings, revisiting, reorganizing, difficulties in the workplace, malfunctioning of electronic devices and transportation , etc. These themes will appear earlier, in the pre-retrograde shadow period (2 weeks prior to the beginning of the retrograde) and will last up to 2 weeks after Mercury turns direct (in the post-retrograde shadow period). I will go into details regarding the pre and post retrograde period in another post. I recommend to follow the movement of Mercury. Being in Leo, a sign ruled by the Sun, Mercury retrograde may slow down or affect communication with bosses, authority figures (including government), romantic partners and children. During this time you will have to revise how you talk to these categories of people, or you will have to clear up any misunderstandings with them. If you are working on a creative project, you will have to revisit and recheck it. It is not a good time to publish something or start a new project. Try to use this time to improve what has already been done. It is better to postpone any important decisions with romantic partners or children till the beginning of September. This is a good time for renovating creatively. But don't do anything too extreme. If your creative projects are in digital format try to have a backup for them. Writers, painters, actors could experience artistic blocks. Your love life may slow down and require some adjustments. Maybe you want to move in with that special person. This period of time is great for reflecting and analyzing your relationship with your romantic partner. Do not take hasty decisions. Use this time for reflection so that you may shine when Mercury goes direct again in Leo.

In that post I mentioned that Gemini and Virgo will be more affected, and by that I meant people with main planets and points in these signs (Sun, Moon and Ascendant). But what about others who don't have the luminaries and Rising or any other planets or points in Gemini and Virgo? How would Mercury retrograde impact your life if you don't have Gemini or Virgo placements? All of us have astrological houses in Gemini or Virgo in our natal chart. Look up your birth chart and see what house cusps fall in Gemini or Virgo. Those houses are ruled by the planet Mercury. 1st house in Gemini or Virgo (your Ascendant is also Mercury ruled) - themes of Mercury retrograde will impact your self image, personality, physical body/ appearance, life path . This is a good time to reassess your individual needs. Self care routines are also favored during this transit. Do not make definitive decisions regarding yourself during this transit.
